EcoFlow Battery Rebates for Busselton Homes

Busselton falls inside Synergy’s service area, which means eligible households can stack two separate incentives on the same EcoFlow installation:

  • WA Residential Battery Scheme — $130 per usable kWh for Synergy customers, capped at $1,300 for a 10 kWh battery. Requires enrolment in an approved Virtual Power Plant such as Synergy Battery Rewards for a minimum of two years.
  • Federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program — applied as an upfront STC discount at the point of installation, worth several thousand dollars on a typical system.

To qualify, the battery and inverter must appear on Synergy’s Supported Solutions List, the battery must be on the Clean Energy Council-approved list, and the work must be carried out by an SAA-accredited installer. We’re accredited, we’re on the vendor directory, and we lodge the paperwork for you — the rebate comes off your quoted price rather than being something you chase afterwards.

EcoFlow Ocean 2 Plus: Our Flagship Battery for Busselton Homes

The Ocean 2 Plus is EcoFlow’s newest single-phase system, launched in Australia in May 2026. It’s what we recommend for most new Busselton, Vasse and Dunsborough installs  especially where the roof is complicated, or you want whole-home backup rather than a few essential circuits.

  • Three independent MPPTs. Adapts to complex rooftops, multiple orientations and partial shading, with each string taking up to 8 kW — 24 kW of PV in total. Ideal for Geographe hip roofs and shaded older streets.
  • Scales from starter system to 300 kWh. Up to 60 kWh in a dual-tower configuration, or five units in parallel for 300 kWh.
  • 50 W standby draw. The spec nobody advertises. Every watt a battery burns idling comes out of your savings — over 15 years this adds up.
  • Zero-millisecond backup, built in. No separate backup box, no reboot on the WiFi when a storm drops the line.
  • 10,000 cycles, 15-year warranty, in a weather-sealed enclosure built for coastal salt air.

Best for: new builds, shaded or multi-pitch roofs, whole-home backup, and anyone adding an EV or heat pump within five years.

EcoFlow PowerOcean: Proven, Cost-Effective Storage

The PowerOcean is EcoFlow's established single-phase system and the sharper option on price. For a straightforward Busselton retrofit simple roof, existing solar, goal of cutting the evening peak off a Synergy bill,  it captures most of the available savings for a smaller outlay.

  • Faster payback. With WA and federal rebates applied, it's usually the quickest route to a return that stacks up on paper.
  • Modular 5 kWh packs. Expandable to 60 kWh by cascading three inverters, so you can start small and grow.
  • 90 V MPPT start voltage. Maximises capture across varying weather, meaning generation starts earlier and runs later, which matters through a South West winter.
  • 6 kW continuous off-grid output. Enough to hold a reverse-cycle head, fridge, lighting, internet and a bore pump through a multi-hour outage.
  • IP65 rated, active fire prevention module, over 6,000 cycles and a 15-year warranty.
  • Expandable later with next-generation modules, so it isn't a dead end.

Best for: retrofits onto existing solar, simple roof layouts, and households prioritising rebate-adjusted payback over maximum capability.

FAQs

Can I add an EcoFlow Ocean 2 battery to my existing solar panel setup in Busselton?

Yes. The EcoFlow Ocean 2 can be installed as an AC-coupled system alongside your existing solar inverter, or integrated as a full hybrid replacement to maximize total solar capture and emergency backup.

While both platforms use 15-year warranty LiFePO4 chemistry, the Ocean 2 Plus adds a third MPPT tracker (supporting up to 24 kW of PV input), an IP66 marine-grade enclosure, integrated smart metering, and built-in 63A backup switching without requiring extra backup boxes.

Yes. As licensed South West electrical contractors, we submit all preliminary grid connection paperwork to Western Power and Synergy, ensuring your system complies with local export limits and safety standards.

Yes. EcoFlow’s high-voltage modular architecture supports cross-generational compatibility and mixed stacking. You can freely add next-generation Ocean 2 battery modules (5.02 kWh or 8.03 kWh) to an existing PowerOcean setup without replacing your original inverter or battery packs. For local Busselton installations, our licensed electricians will configure the correct base mounting and stack sequencing—positioning original modules at the base—to maintain full structural stability, active thermal management, and IP66 marine-grade weather sealing.
